Collection: Hokuto Ito

Born in Nakano-ku, Tokyo in 1961.

Under the influence of his father who was the designer, he entered the Department of Crafts, Tokyo University of the Arts. At that time, Nodo Fujimoto, a professor of the Department of Ceramics (later the president of Tokyo University of the Arts, Living National Treasure), was attracted to the variety of colors and chose ceramics when he was three years old.

After graduating from the Department of Ceramics, Tokyo University of the Arts, he became an uchideshi (disciple) of Nodo Fujimoto. After Mr. Fujimoto passed away, he built a kiln in Hino City, Tokyo and started his career as a ceramist. Currently a regular member of the Japan Kogei Association. 
He developed his own technique of glaze-colored painting, gold and silver, and realized a gorgeous color that cannot be imagined from the word ceramic art.
