Along the rim, the white glaze creates a soft and graceful landscape, while fine nanako-style crackle spreads beautifully across the surface.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"313\" data-end=\"776\"\u003eThis work was born from the artist’s reconsideration of the roots of Ko-Hagi, and from the idea of using Daido kaolin clay found in the Hagi region. The soft form, with a generous pool-like swelling on the front, carries an atmosphere reminiscent of the Korean Chawan that underlies old Hagi ware. At the same time, the crepe-like texture appearing inside the split foot suggests the artist’s gaze toward old Karatsu as well, revealing the breadth of his inquiry.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"778\" data-end=\"1019\"\u003eThe wide and deep mikomi shows a remarkably fresh and moist expression, in contrast to the slightly matte texture of the exterior.
