Alisher Najirov Fish-Motif Incised & Slip-Decorated Chawan with Cut Foot

Matcha Chawan by Alisher Nazirov, one of Uzbekistan’s leading ceramic artists.
This tea bowl is made using local clay from Rishtan and produced through traditional methods, with a strong commitment to a fully natural Ishkor glaze. While the glaze yields vivid, porcelain-like colors, the piece also retains the soft, earthy character unique to Rishtan clay.

The matte yellow body, strikingly beautiful and instantly captivating, is adorned with playful and charming fish motifs rendered in line carving, complemented by icchin slip decoration. The interior features natural tones and is decorated with floral motifs executed in dot painting. The foot is a cut foot (kiri-kodai), with the artist’s signature carved inside.
